There was silence for a few moments before Jeff spoke again. "So, what am I supposed to do", he asked. "Well, tonight, after we tell the girls, just be there for them, especially Lucy. I have a feeling she'll take it the hardest and she'll need her future husband to make sure she's alright." As Ronald spoke, he put his hand on Jeff's shoulder. "Then, starting tomorrow, I start making sure that you know everything I do about farming, so you can inherit this place when I'm gone."

Jeff took in a deep breath, feeling the weight of the burden he now carried. But, as he looked toward the house, he knew that he could carry it. He had to, for Lucy.
